Seattle-Area, WA Events

Nov. 25 – Jan. 4: Seattle Gingerbread Village (Seattle, WA) – The Gingerbread Village returns to its home this year in the newly-renovated lobby of the Sheraton Seattle (1400 Sixth Avenue). To create the lively displays honoring “A Superhero Holiday,” the Sheraton’s culinary staff joined forces with architects from DLR Group, KMD Architects, MasterBuilders Association, Mithun Inc, MulvannyG2 Architecture, Callison, and 4D Architecture. November 14: World Diabetes Day–This special day has been designated by the United Nations to spread awareness about diabetes throughout the world. Please sign a petition asking Google to commemorate World Diabetes Day on their website, and learn how you can get involved in local and global activities in November to support Diabetes Awareness Month.
November 21: The Dapper Baby Mom's Night Out for JDRF Northwest (Bellevue, WA) – Join us from 6:30 – 9:30pm on Friday, Nov. 21 at the Westin Hotel in Bellevue for a festive evening of pampering, shopping, food, and wine for deserving moms. Proceeds benefit JDRF-funded research! Learn more.
January 25: Jump Into Your Diabetes Community (Bothell, WA) – Join us for a fun, informational event from 2 - 4:30pm on Jan. 25 at Jump Planet in Bothell. While kids bounce away the afternoon, families can learn about advances in pump therapy and participate in group discussions. March 7: Dream Gala (Seattle, WA) – “Picture a Cure” at the JDRF Seattle Guild’s 20th anniversary Dream Gala at the Sheraton Seattle Hotel. During the Guild’s signature event, the Lee Family and Lakeside Industries will receive the 2009 JDRF Living and Giving Award for their tremendous support of JDRF. May 17: Nordstrom Beat the Bridge to Beat Diabetes (Seattle, WA) – Lace up your shoes and run or walk with us to beat type 1 diabetes! The popular event starts at UW Husky Stadium. South Sound, WA Events

December 3 – 8: South Sound Gingerbread Village (Tacoma, WA) – Visit the gingerbread masterpieces at the Greater Tacoma Convention & Trade Center (1500 Broadway) during the Mary Bridge Hospital “Festival of Trees.” The displays are created by gingerbread “artists” at BCRA, Bates Technical College, Korsmo Construction, Dana’s Cakes and Flowers, and Bellarmine Preparatory School.
